چکیده
Heavy metals concentrations in bivalve Psammotaea elongata from five sampling sites in Semerak Lagoon were determined by ICP-MS. The mean concentrations of Cd, Cu, Pb, Fe and Zn were 0.18, 4.42, 1.15, 1.47 and 46.35 μg/g in total soft tissue; 0.68, 20.08, 5.29, 85.5 and 9.06 μg/ g in stomach; 0.7, 17.05, 4.39, 84.15 and 8.62 μg/g in leg; 0.74, 15.19, 4.4, 80.69 and 8.6 μg/g in ligament, respectively. The statistical ANOVA showed a significant difference between metals. Generally, metal concentrations in P. elongata were lower than the permissible limit suggests it is safe to be consumed by human.

Contamination profile of heavy metals in marine fish and shellfish
Rapid industrialization along with advanced agricultural activities led to the contamination in aquatic environment with heavy metals. Heavy metals ultimately pass into human body through having aquatic animals like fish, prawn and crab. In this study, accumulation of heavy metals (zinc, copper, iron, cadmium and lead) in various organs of four commonly consumed fish (Euthynnus affinis...

متن کاملHeavy metals phytoremediation by aquatic plants (Hyrocotyle ranocloides, Ceratophyllum demersum) of Anzali lagoon
Wetlands are often considered sinks for contaminants, and Aquatic plants have been shown to play important roles in wetland biogeochemistry through their active and passive circulation of elements. In this research, in order to evaluate the concentration level of heavy metals released by the urban, industrial and agricultural activities at the margin of the rivers flowing into Anzali lagoon, as...
متن کاملGeofractionation of heavy metals and application of indices for pollution prediction in paddy field soil of Tumpat, Malaysia.
The present study investigates the concentration of Pb, Cd, Ni, Zn, and Cu in the paddy field soils collected from Tumpat, Kelantan. Soil samples were treated with sequential extraction to distinguish the anthropogenic and lithogenic origin of Pb, Cd, Ni, Zn, and Cu. ELFE and oxidizable-organic fractions were detected as the lowest accumulation of Pb, Cd, Ni, Zn, and Cu. Therefore, all the heav...
